What a great spring semester!

Students enrolled in agriculture classes at Wilbanks have been super busy since the introduction of the Farm to School program!  In February we planted several raised beds with lettuce after we installed “mini” greenhouses over them.  Once it warmed up a bit in March we started to reap the benefits of our hard work and began seeing the growth.  In late April we harvested our first lettuce crop!  We harvested over 20lbs of lettuce which was then served on our school lunch line!

In April we planted our warm season crops which includes tomatoes, peppers, squash, herbs, and eggplant.  As of date we have harvested numerous squash and lots of Basil and the tomatoes are almost ready!  Feel free to stop by our gardens and see what we are going or how you can help!
